Dynamic Intercourse

I found this in a book called Telling Lies for Fun and Profit: A Manual for Fiction Writers by Lawrence Block.

In Bed

Here's a little bit of positive thinking, courtesy of a fortune cookie.

Return of the Paint Chip

This is another studio leftover. It measures about two inches wide.

Pocket Lint

I found this on the ground on my way to work one day. Its a 1 1/2 inch piece of pink paper stuck to some masking tape. It was in my pocket all day at work. I feel the lint adds a nice shade of blue to the color scheme.

Paint Chip

This is a chip of paint and rust that flaked off the lower part of the wall near my shower. I'm pretty sure that part of my house is slowly rotting away. Amazing pieces of art are regularly falling off the wall.

More Studio Leftovers

Here is another piece of leftover paint I found. It's about two inches wide. If I keep this up, pretty soon I wont have to actually paint any of my paintings. Undergraduate painting studios are very messy and over crowded. They rarely get swept. As a result the floor is a gold mine of little pieces like this.

Leftovers

These are some paint chips I found in the studio where I paint. They are no bigger than 2 inches in length. Its funny how sometimes the leftovers from painting are more interesting than the paintings themselves.

Song Of Love

If this isn't surrealism, than I don't know what is.

Composition in Red and Black

Object

In the late 60's an abstract painter by the name of Al Held said "All Conceptual art is just pointing at things." So, in an attempt to find out what art really is, this blog shall point out objects that I feel have some aesthetic significance to them. These objects could be anything...trash, household objects, stuff like that. They all have one important thing in common, though: They are all art because I say so!! A detrivore (also know as a detritivore) is an organism that feeds on detritus, or waste. I figure that this must be the artistic equivalent of that.
